5-Day Meal Plan: Recipes, Grocery List and Meal Prep Tips

5-Day Whole30 Meal Prep Plan: Easy Breakfasts, Lunch + Simple Weeknight Dinners

Here’s a ready-to-use 5-day meal plan designed to make your week easier: pre-made breakfasts and lunches along with five quick, flavorful weeknight dinners. Everything in this plan is Whole30-compliant, so it’s a great option if you’re preparing for a Whole30 reset.

This post is proudly sponsored by my friends at OXO. I’ve wanted to share a practical meal plan for a long time, and it’s finally ready. I’ll be giving away three of their 16-piece glass storage container sets on Instagram this week — they’re excellent for meal prep.

Why Weekend Meal Prep Works

Spending a little time on the weekend to plan and prep meals sets you up for a healthier, less stressful week. Life happens and plans change, but having breakfasts and lunches ready-to-go eliminates a big morning decision and saves valuable time. Mornings can be hectic — coffee, packing lunches, getting everyone dressed — so prepped breakfasts are a huge time-saver and one less thing to juggle.

I also get most of my work done while the kids are at school. When my lunch is already prepared, I can grab it and get back to work quickly. This strategy works equally well for anyone taking lunch to the office.

Best Containers for Meal Prep

I store my pre-made meals in the 16-piece glass container set by OXO. These containers are oven- and microwave-safe, BPA-free, and stack neatly in the fridge to keep everything organized and easy to access.

Simple Weeknight Dinners

On busy nights I aim for meals that take 15–30 minutes and use minimal ingredients. This plan includes five easy weeknight dinners that are quick to make but still full of flavor, so you don’t need to sacrifice taste for convenience.

What’s Included

The meal prep bundle includes two downloadable documents to guide you through the week:

  • Meal Prep Guide — grocery list, planning tips, and a clear prep timeline.
  • Meal Prep Recipes — the weekly menu plus full recipes and notes on what to prep in advance.

Adapt the Plan to Your Family

This plan is a tested framework that I use for my family, and I hope it serves as helpful inspiration for yours. Adjust portion sizes and ingredients based on how many people you’re feeding and individual preferences. For example, my kids sometimes prefer taco meat in tortillas rather than a taco salad — little tweaks like that make the plan flexible for picky eaters.

If you prefer visual instructions, I saved a week of prep stories with recipes and step-by-step breakdowns to my Instagram Story Highlights — check the defineddish profile for a visual walkthrough.

Feedback Welcome

I’d love to hear your thoughts if you try this plan. What worked for you? Were the documents helpful or is anything missing? If this guide is useful, I may publish a new monthly meal-prep plan. Share your feedback in the comments.

Note: I only work with companies and products I genuinely support. This post includes sponsored content from OXO. While I’m compensated for this collaboration, my opinions remain my own.
