Honey-Orange Glazed Pork Stir Fry

This recipe features crisp-seared pork tenderloin tossed in a glossy honey-orange glaze. The glaze uses coconut aminos for a soy-free umami base, toasted sesame oil for depth, fresh ginger for warmth, and fresh orange juice and zest for lively citrus flavor. A small amount of sriracha adds heat if you like it; omit for milder palates. Serve over steamed rice with a side of broccoli for a balanced, family-friendly dinner.

  • 4 tablespoons avocado oil, divided
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons tapioca flour

Instructions

  1. Make the glaze: In a small bowl whisk together the coconut aminos, toasted sesame oil, rice vinegar, grated ginger, orange zest, orange juice, sriracha (if using) and honey until smooth. Set the glaze aside.
  2. Prepare the pork: In a large bowl combine the pork cubes with the salt, pepper, 1 tablespoon of avocado oil and the tapioca flour. Toss until evenly coated.
  3. Sear the pork: Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat with the remaining 3 tablespoons of avocado oil. When the skillet is hot, arrange the pork in a single layer and let it cook undisturbed until crisp and browned on one side, about 3 minutes. Flip and cook until browned on the other side, about 3 more minutes. Transfer the browned pork to a plate using a slotted spoon and set aside.
  4. Sauté aromatics: In the same skillet add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook, stirring and scraping up any flavorful browned bits from the pan, until the onions are softened, about 3 minutes.
  5. Combine with glaze: Pour the prepared glaze into the skillet with the onions and garlic and toss to combine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and allow the sauce to reduce and thicken, stirring occasionally, until it has reduced by about half, roughly 4 minutes.
  6. Finish the stir fry: Once the sauce has thickened slightly, return the seared pork and any accumulated juices to the skillet. Toss until the pork is well coated and warmed through, about 2 minutes. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  7. Serve: Spoon the honey-orange glazed pork over steamed rice and serve with steamed broccoli on the side. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy!

Tips, Variations, and Serving Suggestions

  • If you prefer soy sauce, you can substitute low-sodium soy sauce for the coconut aminos, but the flavor will be a bit different. For a gluten-free option, confirm that your soy sauce or aminos are gluten-free.
  • Omit the sriracha in the glaze for a child-friendly version and serve hot sauce at the table for adults who want heat.
  • Add colorful vegetables—bell peppers, snap peas or carrots—when sautéing the onions to boost nutrition and texture. If adding vegetables, cook them until crisp-tender before adding the sauce.
  • For a slightly thicker glaze, reduce the sauce a bit longer; for a thinner sauce, add a splash of orange juice or water.
  • To save time on busy nights, make the glaze ahead and store it refrigerated in a sealed container. Reheat gently before tossing with the pork.

Storage and Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat gently in a skillet over medium heat until warmed through, adding a splash of water or orange juice if the sauce has thickened too much while chilled. Leftovers also work well wrapped in lettuce or rice paper for a quick lunch.
