Dallas Restaurant Guide — Clean Eating Edition
As a Dallas local and food blogger, it’s long overdue that I share a restaurant guide to my city. Dallas has a thriving dining scene, and there are many restaurants that prioritize fresh, seasonal and clean ingredients. Because I get asked most about healthy options, this guide focuses on my favorite Dallas restaurants for clean eating — great for paleo, Whole30, gluten-free, or simply health-conscious diners.
Breakfast & Brunch Favorites
Kozy Kitchen — My top pick for a healthy breakfast or brunch. They offer many paleo-friendly dishes that are filling and nourishing. Ask for the off-menu “bowl of doom” if you can — it’s my favorite. (I’ve recreated a copycat version on my site.)
Origin Kitchen + Bar — Perfect for lunch, brunch or dinner, Origin offers thoughtfully prepared dishes with several paleo-approved choices and plenty of fresh ingredients.
Health-Forward Neighborhood Spots
Flower Child — A popular health-focused restaurant known for natural, additive-free proteins and local sourcing when possible. The menu is consistently nutritious and flavorful; try to visit outside peak times to avoid a wait.
True Food Kitchen — A seasonal, health-driven restaurant that emphasizes nutrient-rich ingredients and a rotating, flavor-forward menu. I love the variety of seasonal options and the balance of taste and nutrition.
R+D Kitchen — My go-to when I want something reliably excellent. The menu is broad, service is great, and the atmosphere is lovely. Favorite dishes include the seared tuna roll, Newporter salad, Mediterranean seared tuna salad, Greek-style chicken, and the pan-fried fish. For a heartier choice, their Reuben is surprisingly good.
Rooftops, Seafood & Market Finds
HG Sply Co — A great clean-eating spot with many paleo options and one of the best rooftops in Dallas. After your meal, head up for a drink and skyline views. I recommend the Kobe Burger Stack.
TJ’s Seafood — A restaurant and market offering very fresh fish and clean-prepared menu items. Their fish tacos in butter lettuce cups are a favorite for lunch, and you can purchase beautiful seafood from the market to cook at home.
Lover’s Seafood — Similar to TJ’s, Lover’s Seafood has excellent fresh seafood and prepared dishes. Both spots are great depending on what you’re craving.
Cafés, Bowls & Fast-Casual Clean Eats
Ascension Coffee — A cozy spot for a light lunch; the Salmon Niçoise salad is my go-to, paired with an iced vanilla almond milk latte.
Mesero — Offers clean-eating twists on Mexican flavors. My favorite is the Del Corazon Ensalada — light, bright, and satisfying. I’ve recreated my version of it at home as well.
Unrefined Bakery — A gluten-free bakery with many options to accommodate dietary restrictions: nut-free, tapioca-free, grain-free, sugar-free, yeast-free, and paleo selections. Great for a healthier treat.
Southpaw’s Grill — Fast-casual and focused on natural, sustainably raised ingredients. Their ZaZa bowl is excellent and very satisfying. I’ve recreated a copycat version in my kitchen for busy nights.
Unleavened Fresh Kitchen — A Lakewood spot offering updated takes on classic dishes with a healthy bent, perfect for casual dining.
Raw, Juice Bars & Quick Prepared Meals
Be Raw — A truly raw, organic, vegan, and gluten-free option that avoids artificial ingredients. If you want ultra-clean meals, this is a top choice.
Mudhen Meat and Greens — Located at the Dallas Farmers Market, Mudhen focuses on clean meats and seasonal produce — ideal for Whole30 or paleo diners. The staff is accommodating and can often adjust dishes to fit dietary needs.
The Gem — A favorite grab-and-go spot for smoothies, juices, and clean organic lunches. Their Faux-yo Parfait is a great breakfast pick, and the Immuni-tea is perfect when you’re feeling under the weather.
Nazca Kitchen — A health-focused Peruvian eatery with flavorful options. I enjoy their lettuce cup tacos, and the menu has several lighter, balanced meals.
Snap Kitchen — Great for busy weeks when you need ready-to-eat, clearly labeled meals that support Whole30, paleo and other dietary preferences. Stock up on breakfasts and lunches to simplify your routine.
Nektar Juice Bar — A solid juice and smoothie stop. If you like acai bowls, theirs are worth trying.
The Juice Bar — Another dependable spot for fresh juices, smoothies, and acai bowls.
Verts Mediterranean Grill — For a fast, fresh grab-and-go lunch, Verts is a strong alternative to other quick-service chains. I typically order a salad bowl loaded with vegetables and the spicy cilantro sauce for an extra flavor boost.
Additional Picks
East Hampton Sandwich Co. — A standout feature is that you can convert many of their sandwiches into salads — a small but very useful option if you want a lighter meal.
This roundup highlights many of my favorite Dallas spots for clean, nourishing food. If I missed one of your go-to places, tell me which restaurant you love — I’m always excited to try new healthy eats around town. Happy, healthy dining!
